Cortland Police Responds to Large Fight – Loaded Gun Found

Around 7 o’clock on Monday, City of Cortland Police officers responded to a reported large fight involving multiple teenagers at the intersection of Homer Ave. and Groton Ave. in the City of Cortland.


Several teenagers were detained and interviewed by CPD officers after their arrival to the scene. Police also found a loaded firearm at the scene of the fight. The gun in question was a modified AR rifle with a short barrel, Cortland Police told X101 News. Cortland Police say the investigation remains ongoing at this time.

In the release by Cortland Police, the department also stated on the rumor of a gun displayed at Suggett Park. After multiple interviews by police, there is no information of any type of gun displayed at the park.
