Cortland Police Report Two Arrests From Tuesday

A man fell off of his bike on Port Watson Street Tuesday morning just after 7:30, so someone called for help.

When Cortland Police got there, they found Matthew Hudson, 27, of Cortland, with a needle and a scale.

Officers report that Hudson told them he used the scale to weigh his drugs.

He was charged with having the needle and criminally using drug paraphernalia, was released, and is to return to City Court on May 25.


A teenager from Cortland was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child on Tuesday.

Cortland Police say Bryce Haines, who is 17, was arrested at 4:30 pm.

Police say on Monday afternoon, Haines punched a 15-year old boy several times in the face at what was only identified as a location on Valley View Drive.

Haines is to return to City Court on May 23.
