Cortland Police Report Mother’s Day Weekend Arrests

Cortland Police report that Christopher Ascoli, 19, of Selden, was arrested on Hill Street on Friday night just before midnight.

According to police, Ascoli had an open container of alcohol (under age 21), and lied multiple times about his identity, (Criminal Impersonation).

Police say Ascoli was released to appear in Cortland City Court on June 1.

Cortland Police say Amanda Wood, 23, of Cortland was arrested at 11:30 am Mother’s Day morning and charged with Unlawful Dealing with a Child from an incident on April 20 at 8:30 pm.

According to the police report, while Wood was at a residence on Northcliffe Road, and she provided alcohol to a female under the age of 21.

Police say Wood was released to appear in Cortland City Court on May 30.

Jessica Vega, 28, of Westchester, was arrested by Cortland Police at 2:11 am on Sunday, May 13.

Officers ticketed her with Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a blood alcohol content above .08%, DWI and other traffic infractions.

Police say she was driving without using headlights, and didn’t use a turn signal on Port Watson Street.

During the traffic stop police found her to be intoxicated.

Vega was released to appear in Cortland City Court on June 6.

Just after midnight on Sunday, May 13, Brittany Jackson, 20, of Brooklyn, was arrested by Cortland Police.

Officers say she punched a man in the face, cutting his lip, and tried to punch him while being held.

This was in front of 96 Main Street.

Officers say Jackson also fought with them as they attempted to arrest her.

According to the police report, Jackson was charged with Attempted Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Harassment.

Jackson was released to appear in Cortland City Court on June 6.

Cortland Police provided information on the subsequent warrant arrest last Thursday night of Noah Pierson, 39, of Cortland.

According to police, Pierson is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child from April 16, when he left drug paraphernalia – needles and drug residue inside of a resident on Grange Place with children under 17 could come in contact with it.

Esther Cobb was arrested on May 3 in connection with this incident, leading to the issuance of a warrant for Pierson.
