On Saturday, September 30th, officers from the City of Cortland Police Department responded to 38 Lincoln Ave. in the City of Cortland for a reported burglary.
The report said someone had entered into an unlocked apartment door and then stole several items inside the apartment. Cortland Police began their investigation and found video evidence and a description of the suspect in the burglary.
CPD identified the suspect as 35 year old Larry G. Payne of Cortland. He was located by officers at 44 Port Watson Street and found to be in possession of all of the stolen property from the apartment.
Payne was arrested and charged with Burglary in the 2nd, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th, and Grand Larceny in the 4th, a Felonies. He was later arraigned and released. He is due in Cortland City Court tomorrow.
