The Cortland County United Way Polar Plunge was held at Yaman Park on Saturday morning. Despite the warmer temperatures, turnout for the event was a bit lighter.
80 people participated in the revamped plunge this year. Mother nature forced the annual fundraiser to be modified twice this year. The plunge was supposed to be held in March, but the frigid winter froze the waters at Yaman Park solid.
The event was moved to this past weekend but due to flooding at the park the Cortland Fire Department was brought in to hose participants down instead.
The event did raise $14 thousand dollars for the annual United Way campaign.
