Governor Kathy Hochul has announced new administration appointments, including naming a Cortland native to the Director of Cabinet Affairs.

Matthew Pennello, a native of Cortland, received his B.A. in Political Science and Economics from SUNY Cortland. He’s been appointed Director of Cabinet Affairs.
Most recently, he served as Director of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs for the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance. Prior to that he has served in the NYS Executive Chamber as Special Assistant to the Governor for Legislative Affairs, Prior to that he has served in the NYS Executive Chamber as Special Assistant to the Governor for Legislative Affairs, Regional Representative for the Mohawk Valley, and Assistant Director for Central New York Intergovernmental Affairs with the NYS Department of Labor. He has also served as a Policy Advisor for the City of Syracuse. H has also advised and worked on local, congressional and statewide campaigns in New York State.

We’ll be on location at the Arts Off Main Festival from 11 am to 1 pm this Saturday, August 6th. This is a reimagining of the twelve-year-old Arts & Wine Festival, taking place in the parking lot behind the McNeil building, nestled between Main, Central and Church Streets.
