Cortland Memorial Foundation Hosting 2nd Annual Nightingale Concert

The second annual Nightingale Benefit Concert will be held on Friday, May 3rd from 6 to 10pm by the Cortland Memorial Foundation. The benefit concert will take place at the Homer Center for the Arts. Performances this year are the Fall Creek Brass Band, a brass band from Ithaca that features the sound of New Orleans Street Music with Funk, Jazz, Pop and Rock N’ Roll.

Tickets for the event are available for $50 per person and may be purchased at Guthrie.org/nightingaleconcert. A wine pull cork may also be purchased for $20 each. Money raised this year goes directly to the Cortland Memorial Foundation which supports Guthrie Cortland Medical Center’s mission in providing high quality and compassionate health care.

The Cortland Memorial Foundation says the event honors all nurses at Guthrie Cortland and kicks off the start of National Nurses Week and the birthday of Florence Nightingale. Nightingale is considered the founder of modern nursing.

During the event, one nurse will also be presented with the Nightingale Award, recognizing their service and dedication to health within the Cortland Community.
