Cortland Man Uses Stolen Credit Card – Arrested By Cortland Police

A complaint came into the City of Cortland Police Department of items, including a wallet, stolen from a vehicle parked on River Street in the City of Cortland sometime during the night.


The victim in the case reported their wallet, and other items were stolen from their vehicle and also reported the credit card stolen had been used at two different locations in the City of Cortland since the theft.

During the investigation, officers were able to determine the suspect, 42 year old Keith J. Anderson of Court Street in the City of Cortland, as the suspect using the stolen credit card via video surveillance.

Officers on patrol were able to locate Anderson a short time later and was arrested. He faces charges of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th, a Felony, and Petit Larceny, a Misdemeanor.

CPD says the investigation remains ongoing at this time determining if anyone else was involved in the crime. Anderson was arraigned in Cortland City Court and sent to Cortland County Jail, he is to appear in Court again at a later date.
