Cortland Man Spends More Than $3K Using Stolen Info From Housing Authority

A Cortland man was arrested Friday (August 24) morning after Police say he illegally accessed the Cortland Housing Authority’s banking information and used it to pay for more than $3,000 in goods and services.

Police say most of the purchase were made online.

The accused is 34-year-old Joseph Osborne, of Jefferson Road,who is already being held at the Cortland County Jail on unrelated charges. Those will now include three additional felonies, including grand larceny, identity theft and fraud.

Osborne will be arraigned on the new charges at his next city court appearance, the date of which is unknown at this time.
