Cortland Man Pleads Guilty For Role In Capitol Insurrection

A man from Cortland was sentenced yesterday for his role in the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

Richard Watrous pleaded guilty in January to charges of entering and remaining in a restricted building, disorderly and disruptive conduct and demonstrations in the Capitol building.

He was sentenced to 36 months of probation, including 14 days in jail, 60 days of home confinement, fined $2,500 and ordered to pay $500 restitution.
