A Cortland man was arrested by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, March 17th. The arrest comes after the Sheriff’s Office received a harassment complaint that occurred the day prior, March 16th.
During an investigation conducted by officers of the harassment complaint, officers were able to determine 33 year old Michael J. Diorio of Cortland had contacted the Cortland County Department of Emergency Response and Communication Center and proceeded to verbally threaten to physically harm an employee working there.
An arrest warrant was then issued for Diorio’s arrest. Officers located Diorio a short time later and charged him with Aggravated Harassment, a Misdemeanor. He was then transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and later released on his own recognizance.
Diorio is due to appear in Cortland City Court next month.
