A Cortland man is accused of possessing heroin. Police found the drugs after discovering a meth lab.
Cortland Police responded to 56 Owego Street early Saturday morning for a report of a strong chemical smell.
A search of the property found an inactive meth lab in the basement of the home and meth related items and equipment in a garage on the property.
During their search police say they found over 5.5 grams of heroin in a bedroom. Police say the drug belonged to 54 year old Raymond Cole of that address, he was charged with a felony count of drug possession.
Police made no arrests in connection with the meth lab. State Police responded and removed the items and chemicals.
Cole was arraigned in City Court and held on no bail, he was due back in court today.
