A Cortland man is facing two counts of Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree, a Felony, according to a release by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office. Back on January 10th, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of a person violating an Order of Protection.
An investigation conducted by officers determined 42 year old Brian W. Fairweather of Cortland, violated the Order of Protection back on December 8th in Cincinnatus and again violated the order in Truxton on January 10th. The Sheriff’s Office then issued a warrant for Fairweathers arrest.
Two days later on January 12th, Fairweather was located and arrested for the charges. He was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and arraigned before being released on his own recognizance. He is due in both Cincinnatus and Truxton Town Courts later this month.
