Cortland Man Facing Felony Charge Following Shoplifting Incident at Walmart
State Police say Troopers responded to Walmart Thursday morning for a reported theft. An employee with the store witnessed 32 year old Timothy Davis Doyle of Cortland, take several household items and conceal them. State Police say Doyle then went to the self-checkout, but failed to scan all of the merchandise he had in his possession.
Employees at the store attempted to stop Doyle, but he continued to walk away from them, police added. Troopers were unable to locate Doyle in the area, but were able to learn his identity from a previous shoplifting incident. State Police say he was previously trespassed.
The following day, November 14th, Doyle turned himself in to State Police. He was charged with Burglary in the 3rd, a Felony. Doyle was processed and turned over to Cortland County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.
