New York State Police Public Information Officer, Sergeant Jack Keller tells X101 News the operator of the vehicle, identified as 53 year old Dale J. Planck of Cortland, died at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center after being transported by TLC Ambulance.

Planck was driving a 2020 BMW and was traveling southbound on I81 when he sideswiped a guide rail on the western shoulder of the highway.
