Cortland man charged in physical dispute with children

A city of Cortland man was charged after a domestic dispute involving children that turned physical.

Police were called to an Elizabeth Street residence just before midnight yesterday and broke up the altercation as soon as they arrived.

Investigators then determined 35-year-old Jermaine Evans, of Elizabeth Street, had choked a 14 year old boy and threatened to put a 16 year old girl’s head through a wall.

He was charged with;

2 counts of Endangering the welfare of a child (M)
Criminal Obstruction of Breathing (M)
2 Counts of Harassment 2nd (V)
Evans is currently at CPD awaiting arraignment.
