Cortland Man Arrested for Shoplifting and Possession of Fentanyl

On Monday, June 5th, the Cortland County Sheriff’s responded to a reported larceny at Walmart in the Town of Cortlandville.


The investigation conducted by officers found 33 year old Daniel B. Turner-Rogers had stolen merchandise from the store. Officers were in the process of arresting him when they found Turner-Rogers in possession of 50 glassine envelopes of fentanyl that had a street value of nearly $500.

Turner-Rogers was charged with Petit Larceny for the theft, a Misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd, a Felony for the drugs. He was transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and later arraigned the following day.

He was released after his arraignment due to New York State Bail Reform. Turner-Rogers is due back in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
