A Cortland man was arrested again by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office on March 5th. The arrest came after a complaint of a violation of an order of protection was occurring in the Town of Freetown.
The investigation conducted by officers found 32 year old Micheal C. Palmer of Cortland, continued to send text messages to the victim after being previously arrested for violating a full stay away order of protection back on February 21st.
Officer’s found and arrested Palmer and charged him with Stalking in the 4th Degree, a Misdemeanor, Criminal Contempt in the 1st, and Aggravated Family Offense, both Felonies.
He was transported and arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process. Palmer was later released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in Town of Freetown Court later this month.
