A complaint came into the City of Cortland Police Department back on February 7th regarding a person who had their wallet stolen or lost. The person also informed officers that someone was using their credit cards around town without their permission.

Investigators found the credit card was used at two locations within the City of Cortland. They were also able to identify the suspect as 25 year old Travis A. Thompson of Cortland, via video surveillance. An arrest warrant was then issued for Thompsons arrest for charges of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th, Identity Theft in the 2nd, both Felonies, and Petit Larceny, a Misdemeanor.

On Friday, March 29th, Thompson was seen walking through a parking lot by detectives and was subsequently arrested. He was then arraigned and later released. Thompson is due to appear in Cortland City Court next week.
