Legislators in Cortland County last night (December 19) unanimously approved the appointment of Rob Corpora as the new county administrator, a key financial position that’s been vacant for the past five years.
Corpora currently serves as the county’s IT Director and will begin his four-year term as administrator on December 30.
In the past, county leaders have noted his important role in getting this year’s draft budget developed and put to writing in September for legislators.
They were eventually able to work down what was projected to be a more than $9M deficit to just under $3M.
Corpora was also a member of the search committee created last December (2018) that was tasked with finding an administrator for the county.
He now fills that important office himself, just months after a state comptroller audit concluded that the county needed to hire an administrator as soon as possible in order to properly manage its finances.
Stay tuned with WXHC News for an exclusive interview with the new county administrator next week.
