Cortland Police arrested 38-year-old Petr Korolov, of Fuller Avenue in Corning, for recklessly breaking the wrist of a female under the age of 16 while acting as a karate instructor on Tompkins Street in Cortland,
Police say the incident occured on September 27. Korolov was teaching the classes at the Cortland County YMCA, 22 Tompkins Street.
Korolov was released and is set to reappear on December 7.
In an unrelated arrest, Cortland County Sheriffs arrested 37-year-old Tanner Caughey, of East River Road in Cortland, at 3 a.m. Saturday (November 24) after he refused to stop for officers who were pulling him over.
Cortland Police say Caughey refused to stop on Clinton Avenue when officers attempted to pull him over for crossing road hazard markings.
He was then involved in an accident on East River Road where the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office handled him at the scene.
Caughey was sent to jail on $250.00/500.00 to appear on December 5.
