This morning’s (March 7) Meet Cortland County segment featured Public Health Director Cathy Feuerherm, who dispelled the facts from the rumors on the hype surrounding novel coronavirus.
Feuerherm confirmed that there are currently no diagnosed cases of COVID-19 in Cortland County, but also said that its arrival to the area is inevitable.
One GCMC patient and a Cortland County family who recently traveled abroad are currently in isolation, although so far all test results statewide north of Westchester County have turned up negative.
The County Health Department is working closely with all relevant local agencies to ensure proper measures are in place to prepare and protect the community.
For more information on COVID-19, Feuerherm said the best resource is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
