Both Cortland Harvest and Cortland County Agriculture have gained the support of the legislature during their monthly meeting last night.
The County Legislature voted unanimously to approve their support for the Cortland Harvest brand for all products made and produced in Cortland County, except cannabis products. An amendment to the proposed law was to add a specification that the count does not support cannabis based products.
With the support of Cortland County Legislature, Cortland Harvest will have assistance in programming, promotion, and sustainability.
Some examples of the assistance include: advertising on the county website, ads on transit buses (if available), working with local organizations for further promotion, promotional materials at county events and offices, and working with Experience Cortland to promote the Cortland Harvest Brand.
Cortland Harvest is a new brand that will help residents easily identify when they are making purchases of locally made products.
