Cortland Crush Honor City Parks Employee For Going The “Extra Mile”

David Pitts, a 2002 Cortland High School graduate and an employee of the Cortland Youth Bureau has been named the 2016 recipient of the Cortland Crush Community “Extra Mile” Award. The Crush will honor Pitts during its third annual Ice Crusher Hot Stove Event on February 27.

According to a press release from the Crush, Pitts has been a fixture at local parks during his eight years with the city, going above and beyond the call of duty in service to the hundreds of adults and children who regularly use the facilities.

His dedication and passion for the upkeep, maintenance, and the manicuring for the seven ball fields is unparalleled. Pitts works with the SUNY Cortland baseball and softball teams.

The Crush’s Hot Stove event will be held at the Cortland Ramada Inn from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on February 27th.
