Cortland County Youth Bureau Announces New Youth Education & Sports Programs

The Cortland County Youth Bureau has announced it is offering funding for the enhancement of local organizations that benefit youths.

The Youth Development Program aims to provide young people in Cortland County with the resources and initiatives that help them grow and build themselves as people. Cortland’s Youth Bureau partially funds programs that do this while supporting programs that encourage the development of life skills and give young people meaning in their community.

Programs that receive funding must focus on the development of youth in leadership and program planning/implementation, provide opportunities where young people can feel safe and supported, stand for positive values, social competencies, and have a positive identity. For example, the Youth Sports and Education Opportunity-Cortland County Youth (YSEF) funding is provided by New York State. Funding is awarded to programs that use sports as an effective conveyor of emotional and social health.

All programs requesting funding must give their data to the Youth Bureau. More information, as well as applications, can be found HERE or by calling the Youth Bureau at 607-758-5509. The deadline to submit your application is September 6th, 2024.
