Cortland County Undersheriff Burhans Finished Phase 2 Civil School

Cortland County Undersheriff Burhans, has completed a two-week Statewide Training Program and Civil Course. His completion finishes Phase 2 of Civil School.

“Fifty-six Deputy Sheriffs and civilian staff from Sheriff’s Offices around the State attended the New York State Sheriffs’ Institute Civil School held recently in Albany, New York. This was the second week in a two week-long day training program offered each year by the Sheriffs’ Institute.”

The Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

The school offers those participating training in the latest advances in Civil Law Enforcement and also a forum to discuss ongoing Civil Law Enforcement issues. This gives participants to share best practices towards real life situations.
