Cortland County Textile Recycling Shed Arrives – Now Accepting Usable Textiles

The Cortland County Recycling Center says their textile shed has officially arrived and the Recycling Center is now accepting usable items only. Those items include: clothing, shoes, belts, purses, blankets, sheets, curtains, pillowcases, and stuffed animals.


Anything that is considered unusable will not be accepted. The Recycling Center additionally noted fabric scraps and dirty rags will also not be accepted. The Cortland County Recycling Center says if the shed is abused with an excessive amount of unacceptable items, the shed will be pulled.

The shed is operated by St. Pauly Textile, Inc. The recycling shed is at no cost to the county.
The organization works with over 1,300 organizations in collecting textile donations and collects over 175,000 pounds of clothing a day.
