This weekend is Super Bowl Sunday and the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a high visibility engagement campaign beginning today through Monday.
The STOP-DWI Super Bowl weekend is one of the many statewide campaigns that is promoted by the STOP-DWI NY and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee to put a stop to those driving impaired.
The campaign is made to be highly visible, publicized to further reduce drunk and impaired driving. Drivers this weekend can expect to see more marked and unmarked police vehicles on the roads and DWI checkpoints.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says though you can make a difference by having a sober plan. An app is available for free titled “Have a Plan” that will help those who’ve had too much to drink find a safe way home.
