Around 11 o’clock at night on Thursday, August 17th, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office located a wanted man in connection with a shooting near the Ithaca Commons that left two shot back on July 29th.
Officers arrested 19 year old Qaron A. Maye, during a traffic stop and then turned him over to the Ithaca Police Department on warrants out for his arrest.
It was back on July 29th around 2 in the morning when officers from the Ithaca Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 100 block of East State Street on the West end of the Ithaca Commons. It was reported at least one person was shot. After arrival and an investigation conducted by officers, it was determined two people were actually shot after a physical altercation.
Maye faces a charge of Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree. The investigation remains ongoing and ask anyone with information and have not spoken to police yet, to call their tip-line at 607-330-0000.
