Cortland County confirmed 39 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, totaling close to 100 in the last 48 hours (91).
Five additional residents were hospitalized during that time — two yesterday and three on Monday.
Sixteen are currently being treated for the virus at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center — their most recent data from 11/27 showed around half of all beds available and 48% of those in the ICU.
According to daily numbers from the state, Central New York hospitals are currently more than 70% full.
New restrictions will be sent to any region that hits 90% capacity in the next three weeks, as per new guidance issued this week by Governor Cuomo.
Onondaga County has 230 people in the hospital — including 37 in the ICU — with more than 2,500 active cases.
On Monday, Cortland County set a new record of 51 added cases. A total of 227 are active.
