Cortland County recorded another covid-19 death last week, its first since April and 64th total of the pandemic.
The latest was confirmed Thursday (June 17) by officials with the local health department.
New daily infections have otherwise been minimal — just three over the past week, with a 7-day positivity rate of 0.2%.
Meanwhile, the statewide positivity has dropped below 30% for the first time since March 2020. The 7-Day average positivity rate is 0.38%, hitting a record low for the 23rd Consecutive Day and declining for a total of 76 days in a row.
Governor Cuomo is now scaling back mass vaccination sites, as more than 70% of adults have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine.
Vaccine data holds stagnant in Cortland County, where 48.3% of the population has received at least one dose. This includes 56.8% of adults 18+.
