With the new City of Cortland Trash and Recycling program fully in place, the Cortland County Recycling Center is informing city residents the old blue square recycling bins are not recyclable and must go in your regular trash.
On top of the old blue recycling bins not being recyclable, the center also reminds all residents that Styrofoam and glass is not recyclable as well.
Recently, glass has been considered to be non-recyclable. The County Recycling Center, though, says glass can still be brought in directly to the center on Pendleton St. in the City of Cortland.
Residents who may have further questions are asked to contact the Recycling Center at 607-753-5191.
