Cortland County hit a bleak milestone yesterday, confirming its 1,000th positive COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began in early March.
Of those, 120 are currently active and four people are in the hospital. Fourteen people to-date have needed inpatient care. One person died from the virus.
A total of 879 residents fully recovered. Local health officials continue to monitor another 773 potential contacts.
Daily numbers from the health department represent anyone currently residing in the county.
That excludes students at SUNY Cortland who go home for their isolation/quarantine.
