Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a man from Cortlandville, accused of choking and biting someone he was arguing with.
George Weir II, 49, of Cortland, was charged with Obstruction of Breathing and Harassment.
County police say he was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his home, just hours after he was allegedly in a fight with another person there. Deputies say Weir bit and choked the person, who refused medical treatment.
Weir was arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Town of Cortlandville Court and released until his next court date, scheduled for Wednesday.
Weapons, menacing, and harassment charges face a man from Cortland who was arrested by Cortland County Sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday night.
Damian Grant, 28, is accused of fighting with a man in McGraw, and pulling a knife. Grant is accused of chasing the other man out of a home, in front of a 12-year-old child.
Deputies say Grant was arrested about an hour after they were called to stop the fight and they recovered the knife.
Police charged Grant with:
- Criminal Possession of Weapon
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child
According to police, he was arraigned in Town of Cortlandville Court early Wednesday morning and sent to the Cortland County Jail awaiting $2,500 cash bail, pending his next court appearance.
