Gov. Hochul announced an award of more than $516 million in enhanced assistance for 141 local governments including Cortland County to rehabilitate and replace bridges and culverts while supporting resiliency and sustainability in every region of the state.
Cortland will receive over $2.4 million for the replacement of the High Bridge Road bridge over the East Branch Tioughnioga River. The funding, provided through New York’s BRIDGE NY initiative, is aimed at helping local governments across the state harden existing infrastructure while boosting resiliency of state bridges and culverts.
The announcement builds upon the more than $716 million previously awarded to local governments under the BRIDGE NY endeavor.
