Cortland County Office of Aging to Recognize World Elder Abuse Awareness Day This Friday

The month of June is World Elder Abuse month and the Cortland County Office for Aging will be hosting an event this Friday, June 14th at 10am on the steps of the Cortland County Office Building. 


The event is to bring awareness on elder abuse within the Cortland Community. Presentations will be given by Director of the Office for Aging, Pearl Reed-Klein, PhD, New York State Senator, Lea Webb, E-MDT, Kortney Wloch, Cortland County Mental Health Clinical Director, Dr. Karl Schmitt, PSY D, City of Cortland Police Department Deputy Chief, David Guerrera, and Cortland County Legislative Chair, Kevin Fitch.

Fitch will additionally read a proclamation from the county during the event. In the event of rain, the program will take place in the auditorium located on the 2nd floor.

Those planning to attend the event are encouraged to wear purple.
