Cortland County Lights Landmarks Green in Support of Veterans

The Cortland County Courthouse has been illuminated green as part of the Operation Green Light for Veterans. The operation is a nationwide effort done by counties, the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers.

Through November 12th, county buildings and landmarks throughout Cortland County will be illuminated green, showing support for our veterans, but also raise awareness around resources available at the county, state, and federal levels in assisting veterans and their families.

This is the second year for Operation Green Light, with participation increasing from its first year. Residents and businesses in the county are also encouraged to participate by changing one of their light bulbs on their property to a green bulb.

You may change an exterior light bulb to let a passerby see, or switch one inside to start a conversation. You can learn more about Operation Green Light for Veterans by clicking on the link HERE.
