The Cortland County Legislature meets Thursday night.
Among items on the agenda is a resolution to accept the land offered for free in South Cortland that may become the site of a new jail and/or public safety complex.
The legislature will be asked to create a Public Safety Facility Needs and Assessment Committee. That’s right, a new jail committee.
Legislators will also consider a resolution to work with the City of Cortland to study the feasibility of going in on shared space for city police and fire. Participating in that research will cost the county $10,000.
Another resolution is the return of the permission to spend 1.9-million dollars on Phase II of the jail plan. The one voted down a month ago.
