Rob Corpora, County Administrator presented the tentative 2023 budget early last month, on October 6th. The Legislature also had a public hearing on the tentative budget back on October 24th.
The Legislature’s Finance and Administration Committee then reviewed and made their recommendations to amend the budget.

The Agricultural, Planning and Environmental Committee recommended to include $6,500 for the Cortland Agricultural Corporation and recommended to fund the Cortland County Soil and Water Conservation District.
Another recommendation from the Finance and Administration Committee recommending the appropriation of $183,920 for Tompkins Cortland Community College. ($88,920 for Operating Bridge and $95,000 for Capital Improvements/Deferred Maintenance)
The budget, with the amendments approved, was then put forth on a motion by George Wagner, Chair of the Finance & Administration Committee.
Chair of the Legislature, Kevin Fitch did note all the hard work put into this year’s budget before the legislature unanimously approved it.
“This is like really the first time that I’ve seen that the committee took heart to every department, they reviewed it, it was presented. They went back and reviewed it again.”
The 2023 tentative Cortland County budget was adopted with a Real Property Tax Levy of $38,500,000.00.
