Cortland County Historical Society Reveals New Historical Marker on North Church Street in Cortland
The Cortland County Historical Society unveiled a brand new historical marker late last week at 27 North Church Street in the City of Cortland. The new maker was created following a grant by the William G. Pomeroy Foundation. The Historical Society says the house in which the marker stands in front of was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.
The house, named the “Greenman House,” was built in 1896 for William J. Greenman with the plans for the house coming from George Franklin Barber’s House No. 1 of American Homes in 1895.
“Greenman was the president of the Cortland Door and Window Screen Company. Today the house is owned by Chuck Feiszli, owner of Resource Associates. Congratulations to all involved in making this happen!” The Historical Society said.
