Two upcoming vaccine clinics are planned by the Cortland County Health Department and Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.
The first is today from 4 to 8 pm, followed by another this Saturday (Feb. 27) from 9 am to 2 pm. Both will be held at the SUNY Cortland ice arena.
Eligible 1B residents with an appointment will be getting their first and and doses of immunity at these clinics.
Those who had a postponement last week have been rescheduled for this Saturday.
Both clinics have the potential to vaccinate up to 500 people. Weekly allocations are beginning to increase.
“We anticipate that offering clinics on Saturdays will provide increased opportunity for eligible individuals to attend,” said Public Health Director Lisa Perfetti. “Our clinic staff and volunteers have been amazing and are looking forward to the opportunity to continue vaccinating the eligible members of our community.”
State restrictions prevent the county from vaccinating those 65 and older. These individuals continue to be served by pharmacies and other local providers.
Grocery stores do qualify under the 1B category.
The County is also working with local businesses to identify eligible employees who are interested in signing up for upcoming clinics.
