A dozen cases of the flu were reported in Cortland County in the latest reporting week, ending March 31.
The previous two weeks saw 10 and 11 cases.
The season’s total in our county is 553, very similar to the count in nearby Chenango County, and about half of totals from Cayuga and Tompkins Counties.
The flu continues to be widespread in New York State, now 17-weeks in a row.
The New York State Health Department latest count showed 3,170 lab-confirmed reports, which was up 17% from the previous week.
There were 479 people hospitalized with the flu in our state, about the same as the prior week.
