The City of Cortland Police Department assisted the Cortland County Drug Task Force by conducting a stop on Pendleton Street in the City of Cortland for a violation of a City ordinance.
During the investigation 39 year old Shauna M. Hamilton fled from officers, resisted arrest and was then found to be in possession of 95 bags of heroin, approximately 1.5 ounces of meth, packaging material, scales and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The overall street value of the drugs found was over $6,100. She was arrested and arraigned in City Court and held at Cortland County Jail.
Hamilton was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance (a felony), criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd degree (2 counts), and resisting arrest (both misdemeanors).
