Cortland County Drug Take Back This Saturday

The second Cortland County Drug Take Back for 2025 will take place this Saturday, September 27th at three locations within the county. Cortland County Sheriff, Mark Helms, says the drug take back will be held at the Cortlandville Fire Department, Cincinnatus Fire Department, and on the Marathon Village Green beginning at 9am Saturday.

The event is a partnership between the Sheriff’s Office, the Cortlandville, Cincinnatus, and Marathon Fire Departments along with the Marathon Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MAVAC).

Drop off at the Cortlandville Fire Department on Route 13 will be until noon while Cincinnatus and the Marathon Village Green will be until 11am. 

No liquids or sharps will be accepted.

The Sheriff’s Office says the drug take back event is a safe and environmentally friendly way to discard any old or unused medications you may have. Any quantities of medications will be accepted.
