Cortland County Drug Take Back Happening This Saturday Throughout County

This Saturday, April 26th, residents in Cortland County will have the opportunity to dispose of any unused, or expired medications at three drop off locations in the County. The event is being organized by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and is being partnered with the Cortlandville, Cincinnatus, and Marathon Fire Departments along with the Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MAVAC).

The drug take back will begin at 9am at three locations: Cincinnatus Fire Department at 5722 Telephone Road Extension, the Marathon Village Green at 1 East Main Street, and the Cortlandville Fire Department at 999 Route 13. Drop-off will be open until 11am at the Cincinnatus and Marathon locations and until noon at the Cortlandville Fire Department.

The drug take back is a safe and environmentally friendly way to discard old or unused medications. Any quantity of medications will be accepted, but no liquids or sharps (needles or epipens) will be accepted.
