The Cortland County Drug Take Back event will be held on Saturday September 30th at locations throughout Cortland County. Residents may bring any of their unused, unneeded, prescription and nonprescription drugs.
Drop-offs will be at the Cortlandville Fire Station from 9am to 1pm at 999 Route 13, Marathon High School from 9am to 12pm at 1 Park Street, Marathon, the Cincinnatus Fire Department from 9am to noon at 5722 Telephone Road, and the Homer Town Hall from 9am to 1pm at 31 North Main Street.
You will not need to leave your vehicle during the take back event. According to the 2022 youth survey of Cortland County 7th-12th graders, of students who report using prescription pain relievers in their lifetime, the most common place they reported accessing them was at home. The second most common place they reported accessing them was from a friend or relative.
