Following a strong recommendation from the Governor’s Office, Cortland County’s DMV drive-through window is now officially closed.
County Clerk Elizabeth Larkin says any previously dropped off transactions will be processed and returned by mail.
Larkin added that dealers may drop off their work in the lobby of the DMV office and returned by appointment.
Until now, Cortland’s DMV office was the only one in the state not to completely close DMV services amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to that, officials tried expanded hours to appease lines that were so long they were disrupting traffic along River and Port Watson Streets.
