The designation was officially announced yesterday (September 12), from the Business Council’s Annual Awards Meeting held in Albany.

Cortland’s Chamber of Commerce dates back more than 100 years ago to 1903, when it was first formed and referred to as the ‘Cortland Board of Trade.’

Today, the organization has grown into the region’s leading business advocacy group, supporting more than 500 businesses that employ over 14,000 people.

“We are truly honored to be named The Chuck Steiner Memorial Chamber of the Year.
Chuck was a great friend and mentor to many of us in the Chamber world and we accept it
knowing that he played a role in what we do here in the Cortland area. Tremendous credit goes to our team of Debbie Thayer, Nikki Davi, and Jennifer Reminick who live and breathe Chamber. Thank you to our members and Board of Directors for having the faith in us to do
this important work.”

Bob Haight, President & CEO of Cortland County Chamber of Commerce
