The Cortland County Area Agency on Aging is offering outreach services for applicants who may be eligible for Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) for December and January.
HEAP is a federally funded program that aims to help households that are eligible for their energy costs. The program varies in benefits based on heating type, income or the size of the household, but those who are eligible for HEAP benefits can be paid directly to their heating or utility company.
The Area Agency on Aging is offering outreach services for those who may need assistance in applying for HEAP or have further questions. Those locations include:
- Scott Seniors, United Methodist Church, December 30th at 8:30am
- Homer Seniors, Homer Town Hall, January 4th at 10am
- Truxton Senior Center, United Methodist Church, January 10th at 10am
- Harford, Creamery Hills on January 11th at 10am.
Additional questions regarding HEAP can be directed to the Area Agency on Aging at 607-753-5060.
