Yesterday afternoons storm left thousands without power in the Greater Cortland Area and took down dozens of large trees at the Cortland Country Club on Route 281.

Due to the extent of the damage caused by downed trees, the Country Club has announced the Club will be closed until further notice.

“While the damage is assessed and for your safety, we ask that you refrain from going onto the property until further notice. We will share updates with the membership as more information becomes available.”

The Country Club said in a social media posting

No word yet on an estimated time of when the club could reopen. As of 9am Thursday, dozens of NYDOT crews were working on cleaning up Route 281 between the Exit 12 Connector and Fisher Ave.
